About us

Our concept is simple: To provide great coarse fishing, dawn till dusk, In the heart of the Worcestershire countryside.

Eastfield Fisheries from the air - during constructionEastfield Fisheries is a family run business capturing the enthusiasm and profrssionalism of Melvyn & Jan Rowberry. The design, building and daily running of the lakes has been driven by both Melyn & Jan's concept to build the lakes in the rear farm fields.

The lakes were completed and opened for business in April 2012
, since then regular use of the lakes a has seen evening barbeques, hog roast evenings lots of early morning cooked breakfasts and plenty of fishing.

"There is always a friendly homely welcome at Eastfield Fisheries from both of us" - Melvyn & Jan Rowberry

The fisheries were designed, project managed and brought to life by Mark Newell. Mark, a keen and enthusiastic angler himself, based the lake design and concept on how he would like the fishery experience to be, the depth of the water, places where the fish would rest, feed, sunbathe and even spawn.

the design, concept & Build

Planting was overseen by designer Mark Newell Bruno (left) was instrumental in the lake design, selecting the specialist lake creation company, Cockerill Lakes and Pools from Lutterworth. He directed on such matters asThe Social Context of Angling, Type of Fishery, Reducing Bank Erosion, Vehicle acces, access for disabled anglers, sizes sources and species of fish, fish welfare, legal matters, security and Bailiffing etc etc.

Types of Aquatic plants where and when to plant, landscaping, commercial plant and fish suppliers and even the types of grass to plant which will encourage various wildlife, butterfies, birds and even at this early stage we have seen a snake swimming across the Malvern View Lake, a fox has been in at sunset for a drink and many and various bird regularly swoop down for a drink and even have a bath in the crystal clear waters. A haven for wildlife! as was designed.

Cockerill Lakes and Pools from Lutterworth, were awarded the contract of creating the lakes from a close cut grass pasture which was used to create hay once a year. Christine Evans, the Proprietor of Cockerill Lakes and Pools had a huge input from the start assisting in the design of the lake positions and contours allowing the creation of the facility without the need for removal of the spoil from site therefore reducing the vehiclure movents and the large impact that process would have had on the local environment and disruption caused to our very understanding neighbours. Work was completed in early 2012. The lakes opened for business in April 2012.
